You can put this solution on YOUR website!
divide this equation
(16x^3-8x^2-60x-36)/(4x+4)
First factor out 4 in both the numerator and denominator:
(4(4x^3-2x^2-15x-9))/(4(x+1))
Cancel 4
((4x^3-2x^2-15x-9))/((x+1))
Now you can use synthetic division
:
......___________
-1 |4 - 2 - 15 - 9
............-4 + 6 + 9
......---------------
......4 - 6 - 9 + 0
:
Which is: 4x^2 - 6x - 9
:
you can say: (16x^3-8x^2-60x-36) / (4x+4) = 4x^2 - 6x - 9, no remainder
