Question: determin whether quadrilateral ABCD with the given coordinates is a trapezoid parallelogram, rectangle or none of these. Show all your work and explain decision. A (4,0) B(12,4) C(10,8) D (2,4)

Use their definitions and graph the points. Calculation of slopes and distances might be necessary. Use distance formula and formula for slope.

If two sides are parallel but the other pair of opposite sides are not parallel, you would have a trapezoid.

If you can determine that three of the segments are perpendicular, then the figure is a rectangle. For perpendicular segments or lines, with corresponding slopes and , if , then intersection is at 90 degrees.
