Question 69037: Problem#50
Geometry. THe volume of the box is represented by (x^2+5x+6)(x+5). Find the polynomial that represents the area of the bottom of the box.

the giagram has a box on the side it has this
x+2

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

I AM ASSUMING THAT x+2 IS THE HEIGHT OF BOX. ???????????????????

Volume of Box(V) =Length*Width*Height or
Volume of Box(V) = Area of Bottom*Height
We are told that:
V=%28x%5E2%2B5x%2B6%29%28x%2B5%29
%28x%5E2%2B5x%2B6%29=%28x%2B3%29%28x%2B2%29 so we have:
V=%28x%2B3%29%28x%2B2%29%28x%2B5%29
If the height was x+2,
Then the area of the bottom is %28x%2B3%29%28x%2B5%29 or
AREA OF BOTTOM=x%5E2%2B8x%2B15
Hope this helps----ptaylor
