Answer by venugopalramana(3286) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1)Can you find the missing pieces given number of sides/angles/ etc.?
YES...WE CAN GET AN UNIQUE ANSWER PROVIDED THE DATA GIVEN IS COMPLETE.
THAT IS THE GIVEN DATA SHOULD ENABLE US TO DRAW THAT FIGURE IN AN
UNIQUE MANNER...FOR EXAMPLE,A TRIANGLE NEEDS 3 INDEPENDENT
DIMENSIONS,
A QUADRILATERAL NEEDS 5 INDEPENDENT DIMENSIONS ETC..
IF NOT WE MAY GET DIFFERENT ANSWERS OR SOME TIMES NO ANSWER.
2)Is trigonometry helpful? Why? When would it be good to use? When would it not?
YES.IN SURVEY WORK
TO FIND THE DISTANCES / HEIGHTS / SIZES OF INACCESSIBLE OBJECTS
TO FIND ANSWERS TO YOUR FIRST QUESTION ETC..
IF WE HAVE PROPER INSTRUMENTS TO MEASURES ANGLES AND DISTANCES ACCURATELY
IF WE DO NOT HAVE PROPER INSTRUMENTS TO MEASURES ANGLES AND DISTANCES ACCURATELY
3)How do you find the area of a regular polygon given different measurements?
TAKE THE CENTER OF THE REGULAR POLYGON AS O.JOIN IT TO DIFFERENT VERTICES
OA,OB,OC,OD ETC...
FIND AREA OFONE TRIANGLE OAB SAY.
MULTIPLY IT WITH THE TOTAL NUMBER OF SIDES TO GET AREA OF REGULAR POLYGON.
These are the 3 questions that I need help on.
