Question 39167: how do you find the area of a heptagon being given that the perimeter is 350? the question doesn't seem to have a given apothem so I guess that needs to be done as well. I tried to find the sides if the figuer by dividing the perimeter by the number of side and got 50 to find the internal angels I tried 360 divided by the number of sides and got 51.4. when it comes to tan and such I get confused.

If all the sides are all the same length:
you would divide 360 degrees by 7 to get that each "triangle" has a degree of about 51.4 degrees ....
Use tan(51.4/2) = (25/x) because the right triangle is bisecting
is about 51.9130349
that is apothem .... multiply it by 350 to get the area of about 18,170
