We have a formula for the sum of the intrior angles of a ploygon.
Where N is the number of sides of the polygon the sum of the angles then is (n-2)* 180.
In this case then:
(N-2)* 180 = 540
180*N - 360 = 540
180*N = 540+180 = 720
N = 720/180 = 4

The sum for any polygon is 180*(n-2)
180*(n-2) = 540
n-2 = 3
n = 5
