Lets say Polygon A has length 14 and width 6.
Polygon B has length 20 and width x. x is the unknown and we need to evaluate it.
In case of two similar polygons the ratio of lengths of the two polygons should be equal to the ratio of their widths.
The ratio of lengths of the two polygons (A:B) is 14:20. When simplified this ratio becomes 7:10.
The ratio of widths of A to B is 6:x
Now since the two polygons are similar, therefore

Therefore the width of the polygon B is 8.57
