our grade 6 class have been working on this problem for a few days now and cannot seem to come up with the answer..
we are looking for a polygon that does not have a right angle but has one pair of parallel sides and one line of symmetry...is there such a shape?

Try an isosceles trapezoid (or trapezium if you are British).
