Consider the total surface of one cylindrical post. It is equal to the area of the top plus the lateral surface area. We neglect the area of the bottom.

Total Surface Area = pi(r^2)+2*pi*r*h =(3.14)(1)+(2)(3.14)(1)(4) = 28.27 ft^2

For 5 posts, the total surface area is 28.27*5=141.35 ft^2 (Answer)
