This is my work:
2x + 5 = x + 12 (get the answer, then plug in the value for x)
x + 5 = y - 4 (plug in the value of x)
x = 7, y = 16
Could someone please check my work?

The only critique I have is that you should go into further detail as to how you went from 2x+5 = x+12 to x = 7.

Similarly, once you know that x = 7 and you've plugged it into the second equation, you should show how you got y = 16 with further expanded steps. If you need to see those, then let me know. Thank you.
