When a ray of light strikes a flat mirror, line AB, at point C, the angle at which the ray hits the mirror, called the angle of incidence, is congruent to the angle at which the ray is reflected away from the mirror, called the angle of reflection. Those angles are measured with respect to line CD, which is perpendicular to line AB, as shown in the following figure.
a. If the angle of incidence of a ray of light is 25.6°, find the angle between the reflected ray of light and the mirror.
b. Two mirrors line AC and line DE are situated so that they are parallel, as shown in the figure. A ray of light strikes mirror line AC so that angle ABF is 70°. Find the measure of angle CEG.
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
angle DCB = 90 degrees. Normal is perpendicular to the mirror
the required angle is 90-25.3= 64.7 degrees
b)Angle FBD= Angle DCE= angle CEG = 40 degrees
The required angle is 40 degrees
