What are the equations of the lines perpendicular to the line x + 7y + 8 = 0 and passing at a distance of 2 units from the origin?
***
x+7y+8=0
7y=-x-8
y=-x/7-8/7
slope of perpendicular line=7(negative reciprocal)
equation:
y=7x-b
b=±2(2 units from origin)
2 equations:
y=7x±2
