Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The perimeter of a rectangle is the sum of the measures of all four sides. So how is it possible for either the length or the width to be larger than the perimeter? Furthermore, you were given that the length is 2 cm longer than the width, so if the width, as you say, is 96 cm, then the length would have to be 98 cm. Or if the length is 192 cm, then the width would have to be 190 cm. Hence your answers contradict both of the given parameters of the problem. The good news is: You are as wrong as you possibly could be, so the only thing you can do is get better.
But for your problem
and
, so
Solve for
then calculate
Hint: When solving, divide both sides by 2 first. It will simplify the arithmetic.
