the measure of two supplementary angles are in the ratio 5:7.
what is the measure of the larger angle?
:
Let x = the multiplier
then
one angle = 5x
other angle = 7x
Supplementary, therefore
5x + 7x = 180
12x = 180
x = 180/12
x = 15 is the multiplier
:
therefore, the angle are:
15*5 = 75 degrees
15*7 = 105 degrees is the larger angle
