Question 469734: Determine the point of intersection of the following system of linear equations.
2x+y=6
5x-2y=6
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2 x + 1 y = 6 .............1
5 x -2 y = 6 .............2
multiply (1)by 2
Multiply (2) by 1
4 x + 2 y = 12
5 x + -2 y = 6
Add the two equations
9 x = 18
/ 9
x=2
plug value of x in (1)
2 x + 1 y = 6
4 + 1 y = 6
1 y = 6 -4
1 y = 2
y = 2
(2,2) is the solution
