Question 305925: determine the slope, y-intercept, and x-intercept for f(x)=-5x+2
Answer by Stitch(470)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The standard equation for a line is Y = mX + B.
Where m = the slope, and B = the Y-intercept
The given equation; f(x) = -5X + 2 is already in the standard form
-5 is the slope
2 is the Y-intercept
--------------
The X-intecept is found when Y = 0, so set the equation equal to 0
Subtract 2 from both sides
Divide both sides by -5

2/5 is the X-intercept
Here is the graph to check it:
