Question 260001: tell whether each statement is true or false, and explain your reasoning in each true or false case.
a line starts at one point and goes on forever.
i think the answer is false because a line ends unlike a ray.

Answer by Edwin McCravy(20060)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

a line starts at one point and goes on forever.

That's false because a line goes on forever in both directions,
it doesn't "start" and it doesn't "end".

It's a "ray" that starts at one point and goes on forever.

i think the answer is false because a line ends unlike a ray.

No, that's not why it's false. You are wrong to say that "a
line ends". A line segment ends, but not a line. A line goes
on forever in both directions. It never begins nor ends.
