one leg (x) of the triangle goes from 4 to -3
so we subtract -3 from 4
and the other leg (y) goes from 3 to 0
so we subtract 0 from 3
so first we need to find the length of each leg of the triangle
where a=4-(-3)=7
and b=3-0=3
substitute
c^2=7^2+3^2
calculate squares
c^2=49+9
add
c^2=58
find square root
c=sqrt(58)= abt 7.6 inches
