The perimeter of a rectangle is 208 inches. The length exceeds the width by 32 inches. Find the length and the width.

Let the width be "x" in. ; then the length will be "x+32" in.

Formula:
Perimeter = 2(length + width)
208 = 2(x+32 + x)
104 = 2x+32
2x = 72
x = 36 in. (this is the width)
x+32 = 68 in. (this is the length)
