Question 1121041: If point E is in the interior of ∠ABC and m∠EBC=23 and m∠ABC=88, what is the measure of ∠ABE?

Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
triangle is ABC
point E is somewhere internal to ABC.
angle EBC equal 23 degrees.
angle ABC equals 88 degrees.
angle ABE must be equal ti 88 minus 23 = 65 degrees because 65 plus 23 = 88.
in other words, the sum of angle ABE and EBC is equal to angle ABC.

if you draw a diagram of any triangle ABC and place point E anywhere internal to that triangle and draw a line from B to E, you will see that angle ABC is divided into two parts, namely ABE and EBA.

line segments AB and CB form the outside line segments with angle ABC between them.

angles ABE and EBC have a common line segment of EB between them.
