Those two questions are NOT, on any planet in the known universe, the same question.

Had you stated that you had a RIGHT triangle and one LEG was 30 feet and the other LEG was 45 feet, then and only then would the two questions have been the same.

Since the second question is the only one that has a specific answer, I will provide the method to obtain that answer.

Use the Pythagorean Theorem.

Where and are the measures of the sides of your rectangle and is the measure of the desired diagonal (or the hypotenuse of what you should have called a right triangle in your initial question).

Just plug in the numbers and do the arithmetic. If you leave your answer in reduced radical form, then you have an exact answer. However, if you take an approximation with a calculator, you must round your answer to the nearest foot because the least precise given measurement is to the nearest foot.

These are NOT the same! The 1st question DOES not mention anything about the triangle being right-angled, and that the LEGS are 30 ft and 45 ft. The 2nd question does specify this.
In addition, two side lengths for one are 30 and 45, while for the other, they are 30 and 46 ft
To get the length of the diagonal (2nd question), you need to find:
Is it that difficult to write the correct problem, WORD for WORD?
