 angles KPL and JPL are adjacent and their sum is 180 degrees
:
2x+24 + 4x+36 = 180
:
divide both sides of = by 2
:
x+12 + 2x+18 = 90
:
3x+30 = 90
:
3x + 60
:
x = 20
:
****************************
angle JPL = 4(20) + 36 = 116
****************************
:
check answer
:
KPL + 116 = 180
:
KPL = 64
:
64 = 2(20) + 24
:
64 = 40 + 24
:
64 = 64
:
our answer for JPL is correct
