my teacher told me to solve the question using the Fundamental Counting Principle so because it can only have six digits i used 9*8*7*6*5*4 and got a total of 60,480 different id cards can be made, is this correct or if i am wrong will someone explain the right way to go about solving this problem? your help is greatly appreciated

She is correct but forgot one thing. A little more information of permutations though. The format is similar to the x,y coordinate but the first digit is the maximum number to "pull" and the second is the number of numbers to pull. In your case the first number should be ten because you need to include zero. The format would be (10,6) or 10*9*8*7*6*5*4.
