How many ways are there of arranging the five rings?
The book says 120 as the answer but gives no formula to calculate the answer so inrespect I have learnt nothing.
But I want to learn could anyone plz help.

For the first ring, you can choose any of five, so there are five choices.
For the second four remaining choices, so 4 choices for each of the first five=5*4, then 3 for each of those: 5*4*3, and 2 for each of those, total number=5*4*3*2=120 ways to chose the five rings.

The first space can be filled by any one of the rings.
The second space can be filled by any of the remaining rings.
The third space can be filled by any of the rings.
The fourth space can be filled by any of the rings.
And the final space must be filled by the one remaining ring.
