Question 934463: ok so this isn't homework, this is a work related thing that I just cant get my head around,
if at any one time I have 8 flavoured yogurts, we have 17 different toppings and 6 different sauces, how many combinations can be made?

Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
8 * 17 * 6 = 816 different possible combinations.

make the problem simpler and you can see how it works.

consider 2 different flavored yogurts with 2 different toppings and 2 different sauces.

the total number of possible combinations would be 2 * 2 * 2 = 8.

consider the yogurts are vanilla and chocolate.
consider the toppings are walnuts and cherries.
consider the sauces are chocolate and strawberry.

your 8 different possible combinations are:

                       yogurt topping sauce

                       vanilla walnuts chocolate
                                                         strawberry

                                        cherries chocolate
                                                         strawberry

                       chocolate walnuts chocolate
                                                         strawberry

                                        cherries chocolate
                                                         strawberry
