ANAGRAM 

First we calculate the number of distinguishable arrangements
with no restrictions:

 =  = 840

Then we calculate the number that start with A.

Every one of those is a distinguishable arrangement of NAGRAM
with an A inserted in the front.  So the number that start with 
A is:

 =  = 360
  
So we subtract 360 from the 840

Answer: 840-360 = 480
