I can do it for 4,6 and 8 people. I can't find a pattern to move to 10 people. Here is 8:

If You were to break them into 2 groups of 8
and then match between the two groups you could use
something like

(2,3) (2,4) (2,5) (2,6) (2,7) (2,8) (3,4) (3,5)

remaining Other group of 8
