Question 868363: One card is dealt from a standard 52-card deck of cards .find each of the probabilities below:
A.) let event E= {the card drawn is a club }
Find P(E)
B.) let event F= {the card drawn is a red card that is greater than four and less than 9}
Find P(F)

There are 13 clubs. This is out of 52 cards total
P(E) = 13/52 = 1/4
-------------------------------------------------------
These cards are between 4 and 9 (excluding both endpoints): 5, 6, 7, 8
There are 2 versions of each that are red (eg: 5 of hearts and 5 of diamonds)
So there are 4*2 = 8 cards total that are red and between 4 and 9 (excluding both endpoints). This is out of 52 cards total.
P(F) = 8/52 = 2/13
