The number of 2 person subcommittees that can be chosen from a 10 person committee.
That's a combination, because a committee of

Jane chosen first and Tom chosen second and
Tom chosen first and Jand chosen second is the
same committee, so the order in which they are
chosen does not matter. The committee is the
same. Order does not matter.

The number of 2 person teams that can be picked form 10 people
That's a combination because just like the first one.
Jane chosen first and Tom chosen second and
Tom chosen first and Jand chosen second is the
same team, so the order in which they are
chosen does not matter. The team is the
same. Order does not matter.

The number of ways a President and Vice President can be chosen from a group of 10 people.
That's NOT a combination unlike the other two.
Jane chosen as President and Tom chosen as Vice
President is NOT THE SAME as when Tom is chosen
as President and Jane is chosen as vice-president,
so the order in which they are
chosen DOES matter. Order DOES matter.

So that's the one which is NOT a combination,
but a PERMUTATION.
