77 - 32 = 45 --> 46 numbers inclusive
--> 44 non-inclusive

Look at an easier problem:
What is tyhe differeence between 1 and 4 ?
That is the difference, but
the numbers in between are 2 numbers, 2 and 3
which is 1 less than the difference, so
The difference between 77 and 32 is
There are 44 numbers between 32 and 77
