There are 20 boys and 26 girls, so there are 46 students altogether. There are 20 boys and 18 chess players, but 12 of the chess players are boys so they have already been counted, hence there are 20 boys plus 8 girl chess players in the set of successful outcomes. Divide the possible successes by the total possible choices.
