Question 609719: on the following dartboard, the radius of the bulls-eye (areaA) is 4 inches. the radius of each concentric circle is 4 inches more than the circle inside it. if a person throws randomly onto the dartboard, what is the probability that the dart will hit in area b?
Answer by Earlsdon(6294)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Assuming that any dart thrown will hit the dartboard, then the probabilty of hitting area b is:
p(b) = Area of b divided by the area of the entire dartboard.
You have not provided the radius of he dartboard!
A standard dartboard has a centre circle (the bullseye - a score of 50), a circle around that (score of 25), a double circle farther out (the treble score) and an outer circle (the double score) for a total of 6 concentric circles.
The radius of the outer circle should then be 24 inches.
