Question 517750: How many ways can 4 baseball players and 3 basketball players be selected from 12 baseball players and 9 basketball players?
Answer by deborabr(181)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
in baseball
you want 4 players -> _ _ _ _
in the first choose you have 12 possibilities, in the second choose you have 11 possibilities cause you cant repeat the player, in the third choose you have 10 possibilities and the last is 9. Now, you must multiply them:
12*11*10*9=11880
but have a problem cause if you choose the players 1,2,3 and 4, for example, and you choose 4,3,2 and 1 is the same players. So you must make the answer correct
caculate the times that the possibilities use the same players together.
after that you calculate it you just must subtract of 11880
make the same with the basketball players.
