Joe remembered that the three digits in his locker combination were 3,5,and 7, but he forgot the order of the numbers. What is the maximum number of combinations he must check in order to open his lock? What are they?
Answer by longjonsilver(2297) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
first digit: can be any one of the 3. So 3 options
second digit: once the first is chosen, there are 2 options left. So this creates 3*2 options
third digit: only one number left, so we have 3*2*1 options --> 6
these:
357
375
537
573
735
753
