Did you mean to say A = {a,e,i,o,u} ?
I'll assume that this is the case.

is where we look to see what sets A and B have in common, or the overlapped region.
This is the set intersection operator.
'a' is in both A and B
'e' is in both A and B
No other letters are in both sets

Answer: = {a, e}
