The problem is clearly faulty as posted.
The cheapest tickets cost $5 each; 35 of them would cost 35($5) = $175.
He could not sell 35 tickets and collect only $160. (If he is being honest....)

If this is actually an exam question, by far the easiest way to find the answer is to see which of the answer choices gives the right total of $160. (Obviously, since the problem is faulty, none of them do....)
