You have to remember that ZERO toppings is also an option, meaning there are NINE possibilities. So, this amounts to randomly picking a number from 0 to 8. 1/9 chance for any number.

reality check:
Since the cashier doesn't put on the toppings and he/she is notoriously lazy, the probability of zero toppings is better than 50-50. There is no chance the lazy cashier will order more than one topping.
