Question 378719: Hello, I am trying to help my son with a fraction word problem. Here goes:
A school band has 480 boxes of popcrn to deliver. THe booster club has offered to deliver 1/3 of the boxes. The cheerleaders will deliver 1/4 of the boxes. What fractions of the boxes will the members of the band deliver? The book states the answer is 5/12. However I have tried and tried and continue to get 7/12. Thanks in advance for your help.
