Question 995203: A Spanish class has a total of
46 students. The number of males is 10 more than the number of females. How many males and how many females are in the class?

Answer by fractalier(6550)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let m = # of males and f = # of females.
Thus m + f = 46.
We also know that
m = 10 + f.
Plugging this into the first equation gives us
10 + f + f = 46
2f + 10 = 46
2f = 36
f = 18
Then m = 46 - 18 = 28.
