At a company picnic, there were 561 cans of soda for 399 people. Write that as a rate in simplest form. Which value goes in the numerator of the rate, and why?
-------
561 can/399 people = 1.4 cans per person
------
It is more reasonable to plan for cans per person than
it is to plan for persons per can since persons will
probably not share cans of soda.
