a mixture of 5:3 would have a fractional amt of oil of x
a mixture of 3:5 would have a fractional amt of oil of x

An equation based on the amt of oil
(x-16) + 16 = x
multiply by 8 to get rid of the denominators, resulting in:
3(x-16) + 8(16) = 5x
3x - 48 + 128 = 5x
3x + 80 = 5x
80 = 5x - 3x
