Answer by macston(5194) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
i have a total of 35 people and need to convert results of a survey into percentages.
.
32 out of 35 is what percent? (32/35)x100%=91.43%
2 out of 35 is what percent? (2/35)x100%=5.71%
1 out of 35 is what percent? (1/35)x100%=2.86%
.
The actual process is setting up a proportion. For 32 out of 35:
.
x=percentage
.
Multiply each side by 100%.
x=(32/35)(100%) Which is the same as above.
Summary: To find the percent, we divide the part
by the whole and multiply by 100%
