Question 970660: A movie rental shop has 1375 movies for children. 40% of the movies are rated G while the rest are rated PG. The shop adds a few more G-rated movies to it's collection increasing the number to 45%. How many G rated movies are added?
Answer by macston(5194) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If 40% of 1375 are rated G, 60% are rated PG:
0.60(1375)=825 The rental shop has 825 PG rated movies.
.
The percentage of G rated movies increases to 45%,
so 825 PG rated movies are now 55%:
825/0.55=1500 The rental shop now has 1500
G and PG rated movies for children.
The number of films has increased from 1375 to 1500, so:
1500-1375=125 They have added 125 G-rated movies.
