Question 970634:
For English Class, Gary must read Grapes of Wraft in 10 days. He reads 1/12 of the book each of the first 4 days. For the remaining 6 days, what fraction of the book must Gary read per day?

Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4(1/12)=4/12=1/3 read the first 4 days.
1-1/3=2/3 left to be read in 6 days.
(2/3)/6=2/3*1/6=2/18=1/9 must be read each of the next 6 days.
proof:
4(1/12)+6(1/9)
4/12+6/9=1/3+2/3=1
