Answer by macston(5194) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
m=number of additional 1/8 miles
$2.25+$0.75m=$12.00 Subtract $2.25 from each side.
$0.75m=$9.75
m=13
Total miles traveled=m/8+1/2 mi=13/8 mi+4/8 mi=17/8 mi=2 1/8 mi
Answer: The taxi traveled 2 and 1/8 miles.
