total no of students=32
ratio of girls to boys=5:3
therefore,taking girls as 5x and boys as 3x,we get
5x+3x=32
8x=32
x=32/8=4
5x=no of girls=5*4=20
3x=no of boys=3*4=12
therefore,no of girls=20 and no of boys=12
