Alan height = a
Kolin height = k
Ford height = f
100% =1.00
50%=0.50
(For someone to be 50% taller it means its 0.5 times the total height of that person. Total height would be 100% or equivalent to 1 time. So adding 1+0.5 gets me the 1.5 number.)

a=1.5(k) this reads Alan is 50% taller than Kolin.
k=1.5(f) this reads Kolin is 50% taller than Ford.

Using basic substitution method for (k)
------
a=1.5(1.5(f))
a=2.25(f)
This reads Alan is 2.25 times taller then Ford.

To check to make sure:
Lets say for example ford is 2 feet tall just a toddler.
This makes Kolin 3 feet tall and Alan 4.5 feet tall.
a=2.25(f)
4.5=2.25(2)
