12 units=$540, 1 unit=$45 = $540/12
5units*$45=$225 spent on food

she saves 3/8 * 2/3 = 6/24 = 1/4
she spends 1 - (1/3 + 1/4) = 1 - 7/12 = 5/12 on food
she spends (1/3 + 5/12) * 540 = 9/12 * 540 = $405
