Question 915288: A student spends her day for housekeeping, sleeping and studying in the ratio of 1:3:4. How many hours did she spend in housekeeping? In sleeping? In studying?
Answer by shiva_agarwal(2) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let your ratio be 'x'
so that the time being spent converts to 1.x,3.x,4.x
now total hours in a day are 24 so a simple relation forms here
1.x+3.x+4.x=24
solving for x you get x=3
put back the value of x and you get number of hours spent in housekeeping=1.3=3hours
in sleeping=3.3=9hours
in studying=3.4=12hours
