Question 909059: A store put a mark-up of $25 on the selling price of a dress. The dress sold at $100. What is the percentage of the mark-up on the selling price? And what is the cost price of the dress?
Answer by JulietG(1812)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x + $25 = $100
x = $100 - $25
x = $75
The wholesale cost was $75.
$25 = x% of $75
Divide each side by 75
The markup was 33.33%

Check:
$75 * 1.3333 = $100
